Heliocentric vs. Geocentric Models

Historical Astronomy Paper Tips

Strategize your search:

  • what kind of sources will you need to complete your research?
  • write down what you already know
  • visit wikipedia first to gather more keywords, then move on to more beefy reference sources (revisit wikipedia later once you have more expertise to check out the references)
  • keep a sticky with your keywords

Internet Sources

  • The Rice Galileo Project is a great place to investigate.
  • Remember to critically evaluate your sources; use CRAAP to detect crappy sites:
    • C: Currency (when was the site made?)
    • R: Relevance (does it really suit your needs?)
    • A: Authority (is the author/creator and expert?)
    • A: Accuracy (do they cite their sources?)
    • P: Purpose (what is the intent of the site?)
