Maps & Surveys

Find maps using googlemaps or detailed topographical maps from usgs.gov

Another good tip is to search geologic map (your place name) filetype:pdf to find maps from all sorts of organizations

You can also use the terms hazard, earthquake, flood, etc. in place of the word geologic depending on the area you are investigating.

Citing

You should cite any picture, diagram, graph, etc that you pull from a website. Also cite specific numerical data or other specific facts that you find on a website. Use in-text citations as well as a bibliography page.

You do not need to cite information that is widely accepted or almost universally accepted.

Use APA citation style for both in-text citations and your bibliography page.
Use Noodlebib or Word to help you generate the citations.
